The 37th Rei en Jaume Regatta will be held in the waters of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands between 8 and 10 September 2023.
Offshore regatta between Salou (Tarragona) and Santa Ponsa (Calviá). Approximately 110 miles of course. It commemorates the crossing made by King James I the Conqueror on his way to conquer Mallorca in 1229.
The start is from the Club Náutico Salou and the finish line will be at the Freu de Dragonera. Between 12 and 15 boats are expected, most of them Catalan.
The race is one of the five competitions that form part of the Altura Circuit, and it can be followed on the Club Náutico Santa Ponça website thanks to the sailing-tracking system that equips all of the participating boats with GPS devices.
The regatta’s sporting programme will kick off on Friday, 8th September, with the skippers’ meeting and the welcome dinner for the participants at the CN de Salou. On Saturday, 9 September, the participating boats will gather in the bay of the Catalan town, from where the start of the regatta is scheduled. The trophy ceremony will take place on 10th September in Port Adriano.
